Texas Dogs Come North

Texas dogs arrived on Monday, September 18 at our New Beginnings Kennel in Springfield, Ohio.  They were sent by the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society, our rescue affiliate in Houston, to make room for more dogs coming in.  See the coverage of their arrival by WDTN Channel 2, Dayton here.

You can apply to foster or adopt one of these dogs.

Tex: Neutered male, 11 months old, heart worm negative. Tex loves being outside. He seems to perk up the most when lounging outside or exploring the yard. He also loves to play in the water. He even walks well on a leash! Tex is good with dogs of all sizes and has been around small animals. He has got the goofiest, cutest run when he plays!! Tex loves playing with dogs though he does not understand playing with humans yet. He will let you know though when he wants snuggles.

Gwendolyn:  Smaller Pyr mix; possibly with Italian Greyhound. On the shy side; she will not come to you for attention but is fine when she encounters you.

Buttercup:  Young spayed female, Pyr/Sheepdog mix, heart worm negative.  She's a playful girl who has lots of energy for long walks.

Nudge:  Nudge is good with other dogs; plays with others well and is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He has some skin and grass allergy issues which should clear up in the North.

Schotze: She's an adult female in the 4-5 year old range who is heartworm negative. She as had some skin and mobility issues but is doing much better.  Schotze just needs someone to give her a chance.
