Mission Statement
National Great Pyrenees Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer rescue organization established to facilitate the placement of unwanted, displaced and abandoned Great Pyrenees dogs into safe, caring companion homes.
About Us
NGPR was established in 2006 and incorporated as a non-profit in 2007 in New York state to support Great Pyrenees Rescue efforts throughout the U.S. and Canada. We work with the rescues listed on our contacts page to facilitate rescue and placement and encourage the start-up of new Pyr rescue groups.
NGPR is directly involved in the rescue of dogs east of the Mississippi, moving them out of overcrowded facilities in high-kill shelter areas and transferring them to places with greater potential adoption opportunities. We underwrite costly medical expenditures, organize weekly transports and provide foster homes. We offer intervention and support in hoarding and abuse situations and our neediest cases, 800 shelter hotline number and owner surrender programs assist Pyrs and Pyr owners throughout the United States. We work with other Pyr rescues to achieve these goals west of the Mississippi.
Our EIN is 20-8367835. Our most recent tax filings are online at Guidestar and we have been rated as a Gold-level GuideStar Exchange participant, demonstrating our commitment to information sharing and transparency.
