Please donate to Great Pyrenees rescue–we really need your help. Rescue gets more challenging every year. Many municipal shelters are now so full they turn strays away, and refer people directly to rescues like NGPR.
Big dogs are discriminated against the most because they take up more room in crowded shelters and cost more to vet. Lack of funds and staff has resulted in shelters limiting basic services like vaccinations, heartworm tests and spay/neuters. Some municipalities do not have any animal control or shelter at all. Bottom line—we have to find fosters, arrange transport and pay the going rate for veterinary services—and we can’t pass these increased costs along to adopters.
NGPR has been on the front lines of rescue for 20 years. We provide rescue services east of the Mississippi and assistance to Pyr rescues west of the Mississippi. Over 95% of our expenses go directly to care and transport of the dogs. We underwrite costly medical expenditures and organize weekly transports to move dogs out of high-kill shelter areas. Our 800 shelter and surrender hotline numbers assist Pyrs and Pyr owners throughout the United States. Our latest neediest cases, who need your help now, can be seen here.
Please donate to Great Pyrenees rescue. Your tax-deductible donation can help us get these big dogs the big help they need. Our EIN is 20-8367835 for donation purposes. Those who wish to mail their contributions can send them to: National Great Pyrenees Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box #86, Nanuet, NY 10954.

NGPR supports multiple giving options, including accepting qualified charitable distributions to meet the required minimum distribution (RMD) from IRAs. In most circumstances, donations made directly from IRA accounts do not count as taxable income. In addition, Charitable Bequests, Charitable Gift Annuities or Charitable Remainder Trusts can be established to benefit NGPR in consultation with your trusted financial advisor. Donations can also be conveyed to NGPR through Donor Advised Funds (DAF). We also accept stock transfers through Charles Schwab. Please email director@nationalpyr.org for assistance with these giving options.
National Great Pyrenees Rescue has continually received high ratings for transparency and accountability. We have a highest Platinum rating from GuideStar USA, and we are the only Great Pyrenees Rescue rated a Four-Star Charity by Charity Navigator.
We thank you and the dogs thank you, too.
