What Reviews Say About National Great Pyrenees Rescue
Dedication & Support
“We have adopted 2 Pyrs from this rescue and it has been a great experience both times. They really take great care to match dogs with families for the best possible outcome. Our dogs are beautiful, loving and amazing pups. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive. A volunteer even drove our dog 2 hours after arriving from transport to meet us.“
“Our family is thankful for the work of this organization and we are blessed to share our home with Pyrs!”

It’s all about the Fluffers!! The passion and true heart of NGPR overwhelms me with pride and true honor to be associated with this amazing organization. Thank you, Thank you!

The Right Match
“This is a great organization comprised of caring and knowledgeable people. They truly care that each dog is matched with the right home. They are always available for questions and advice. The dog I ultimately adopted is fantastic. She came to me fully vetted and obviously we’ll taken care of. Will definitely adopt from them again in the future.”
“I adopted my Great Pyr/Anatolian Shepherd mixed breed, Emma, from the National Great Pyrenees organization, and all involved made it a wonderful experience. You can tell that the volunteers are committed to saving dogs and finding them good homes. In fact, after adopting Emma, I decided to volunteer with the NGPR, which has made everyone’s devotion to the dogs even more apparent. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in adopting a Pyr or Pyr mixed breed, or even fostering one, to contact the NGPR.
How Long It Takes
“I had a wonderful experience working with this rescue. We have been thinking of adopting a friend for my Pyrenees mix for a while so we put in an application. I was contacted quickly by an adoption coordinator who was very informative and responsive. She asked for pictures of my fence and permission to talk to my vet. we then did a virtual home visit and interview, and then I was approved to take home our new Pyrenees. The entire process was only about 2 weeks.“

“After losing our beloved 15-year-old Pyrenees, Lylah, back in June, we were truly heartbroken. It was the first time in many years that our home was without a dog. After several months of grieving, we slowly began searching for another rescue who might be the right fit for our home…We reached out to NGPR, completed the adoption application and soon had an interview with a coordinator. After that, we were able to meet Ivy online with her foster, Susan. From the moment we saw her, we were struck by Ivy’s gentle appearance and calm, sweet demeanor. It was love at first sight.
Once we signed the contract to adopt Ivy, we waited eagerly for transport arrangements. We were prepared to make the ten-hour drive to meet her, but then learned that a wonderful group of 6 driver volunteers had stepped forward to help bring Ivy much closer—within just two hours of our home. Bringing Ivy home is bringing a special joy back into our lives, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in her journey. From the coordinators and fosters to the tireless transport volunteers, each of you helped make our family whole again. Thank you for the compassion, dedication, and love you give to these dogs—and to the families like us, who are lucky enough to adopt them.
Editor’s Note – Ivy’s Adoption, from application to delivery, took four weeks.
