Sunny

Sunny (aka Sunny D or Sunny Bunny) is a smart and silly approximately 18 month old Pyr-mix. Sunny was found as a stray in Southern Oregon, was temporarily taken into a home before being placed in a shelter. She was there for a few months before GPPR was asked to step in.

Once she gets settled and feels comfortable, Sunny loves snuggling and playing with her people. Like a young dog, she loves to do her zoomies, and play with her squeaky toys, and like a Pyr she then likes to take a nap. Sunny loves people and wants to be with them. She likes to know where everyone is and will do an attendance check going room to room to make sure everyone is accounted for.

Sunny’s doing well on leash and looks forward to walkies. She is house trained and is working on crate training. She knows “sit”but like a true Pyr, may require you to provide treat incentives at first for her to follow through. Since Sunny is very treat-motivated, intelligent and agile, she may also be a good candidate for agility training.

Sunny will need slow introductions to other dogs. Her complex history can make her uncertain in new situations, so she’ll need a confident, calm leader to guide her. She currently lives with a Pyr-mix foster brother and two human children and is doing well.

Because she’s been shifted around, it will take her time for her anxiety to calm and ultimately trust her people in her forever home. Once she is settled, she will be a wonderful addition to the household. Sunny is currently being fostered in Bend, OR. To fill out an application, head to www.greatpyrsandpaws.org
