National Pyr Puppy Fee

Adoption Center / Pay the Puppy Fee

Because the appropriate placement of puppies is so time-consuming, National Pyr Rescue is charging a $15 non-refundable puppy application fee to help cover some of our administrative costs.  The region we adopt to is primarily east of the Mississippi River and includes Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and all states east.  If you are located in a state west of the Mississippi River, please see our contacts page for the rescue group nearest you.

For National Pyr applicants east of the Mississippi, key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues.  For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Please note: puppies are ready to join their furever homes at 11 weeks old, not before. We do not adopt puppies out in pairs; one puppy to a customer! This pet will be a cute puppy for less than a year. You will be living with a large-breed guardian dog for most of the dog's life.  Please do not apply if you have an underground or electric fence, or a trolley.

Before you fill out an adoption application form for the puppy you are interested in, please click the button below to pay the $15 application fee. You'll be taken to a secure National Pyr Rescue page on PayPal to make your payment, and PayPal will email you a receipt — you can use your credit card to make the payment; a PayPal account is not required. You can then supply the number on your receipt in the comments section of the application when you complete our adoption form. The $15 puppy application fee is non-refundable and may be applied more than one time within a year.
