We appreciate your help for our dogs. If you’ve adopted from NGPR or seen our posts on social media, you know we’ve been on the front lines of rescue for 18 years, pulling dogs from high kill shelters. Great Pyrenees are an at-risk breed with large numbers found as strays or abandoned in shelters every day. There are so many, the Pyr rescue groups across the country cannot help them all but we try. Many of these dogs are in sad and neglected condition. Our latest neediest cases, who need your help now, can be seen here.
NGPR provides front-line rescue east of the Mississippi and funding as the non-profit umbrella for Pyr rescues west of the Mississippi. We underwrite costly medical expenditures and organize weekly transports to move dogs out of high-kill shelter areas. Our 800 shelter and adoption hotline numbers and owner surrender programs assist Pyrs and Pyr owners throughout the United States. We constantly strive to meet the increasingly large number of owner surrenders and shelter dogs needing rescue. The growth of homesteading and the number of dogs posted for sale on Facebook and other social media have added to the problem. To read more about us and our commitment to rescue, click here.
Make a one-time donation or choose a monthly donation that fits your budget. After clicking on the blue donate button above, click on the box “Make this a recurring monthly donation.” It’s easy to do and you can support rescue all year. It costs more to board, spay/neuter, feed, medicate and transport big dogs. We need your donation, which is tax-deductible, so we can give these big dogs the big help they need.

To remember a deceased pet or person, please use our in memoriam page so we can capture all the information needed. For donations of $50 or more, we can send a 4″ x 5″ card to the owner/relative with a standard message acknowledging your donation.

As our organization grows, we are fully committed to meeting and exceeding our many responsibilities as a non-profit. National Great Pyrenees Rescue has continually received a high rating for transparency and accountability from GuideStar USA, where copies of our tax returns from 2008 on can be found. Our EIN is 20-8367835 for donation purposes.
For where to send check donations, see below.
You can also help rescue by designating us as your charity on IGive where rescue gets a percentage of goods purchased online. National Pyr is also registered with selling on eBay, which gives a portion of the sales to rescue.
We want to thank everyone, especially our volunteers and contributors, for the selfless donations of time and money that make rescue possible. Those who wish to mail their contributions can send them to:
