My Story

Yogi is looking to join a family who are early birds - after all, early birds get the worm, right? In all seriousness, Yogi prefers to get up bright and early to make sure everything is in order before everyone else gets up. He has an internal alarm clock that goes off at 4:30 am each morning, regardless of bedtime the previous night. He will bark and let you know that he needs to go potty, then comes in and naps until everyone else gets up for the day. He is very much an outdoorsy pup, generally preferring to spend his day outdoors, either just chilling or playing with his foster siblings. Yogi does best with female dogs or he would do great as your one and only. These days, he spends most of his time splashing in his pool with his wide assortment of toys. Did we mention that Yogi loves, loves, loves all toys? He also has a tendency to hoard all toys with him...but he's totally fine if another pup takes his toy, because he will always take it back, usually when they are not looking :) Being a young boy, Yogi has quite an abundance of energy. He will do best in a home where his people are willing to be consistent with his training, and dedicate time to engage in enrichment activities with him to maintain his physical and mental health. Yogi is a playful pup with so much pawtential, he is just waiting for the pyrfect family to bring out all his best qualities! Will you be that lucky person? To foster Yogi please fill out our form at  https://nationalpyr.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=1910

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
