Sweet, silly Wynter (aka Winnie) with the gorgeous eyes, is a young female Great Pyrenees ready to find her PAWsome family who will give her a safe, loving home to grow old in. Winnie is what we call a 'Pocket Pyr', weighing in at 65 lbs. and will probably only top out at 75 lbs when finished growing. Winnie was taken into a shelter after being found wandering alone. Winnie is mastering her leash skills and would love a family who will take her on lots of outings to continue improving her skills. She should catch on quickly as she already knows to sit for a treat and will down sometimes :) Winnie will go into a crate and does not mind being confined and appears to be housetrained as she keeps her run clean. She loves to carry her blanket around to lay on it...after all a lady does need fine comforts in life! Winnie does great with grooming, clippers and getting her nails trimmed so would love an occasional spa day in her new life! Winnie is not shy with new people but is oh so excited, so she will need a home with older children. She is very playful and loves to run and jump to show how silly she is. Winnie loves to play with other dogs, but will need a home with a male dog who let's her be in charge of the playground :) Like most Pyrs, she prefers to not share her food dish with other dogs. While she respects a 5 ft fence, she would be fine as a leash walk only dog with plenty of walks and an active family. This girl acts like a puppy when she plays but will quickly calm down. If you are looking for a soft, loveable Pyrenees gal for your furever companion Winnie just may be your PYRfect match!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
