My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

This adorable boy pup is Smoke, and he is a sweet happy guy who likes to play. Smoke came to rescue with his sister Sonee and 2 other young Pyrenees who were picked up on a busy highway and never reclaimed. We are happy they are all safe now in rescue! Smoke is doing great at his foster moms house and learning everything a pup should know including housetraining and indoor manners. Smoke is going to be a big boy, he's already quite tall and still has a lot of growing to do. He does like to play and while he can be a little shy with all the big Pyr boys at his foster home, he really enjoys playing with all dogs in the yard and he runs like the wind! Smoke is doing well on his leash training now, it was all new to him when he first came to rescue - if you are calm and take your time with him he’s good to go! Smoke sleeps all night unless he needs to go potty and he will bark for you to take him out and then goes right back to sleep. He's a good boy and likes his toys and treats. He would do great with another playful dog and a patient kind owner to continue teaching him everything he needs to learn. He's doing fairly well on lead and off lead he runs, plays, is happy and comes to you. Smoke is a great pup who will be a wonderful addition for some lucky family!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
