Shadow is a very special handsome boy with a sweet and loving demeaner. Shadow had a rough first couple years of life, but he’s learning about the good life in his foster home and adjusting wonderfully! Shadow has excellent house manners and is house trained, comes when called, and sits and waits to see what you want him to do :) He also happily goes in his kennel all by himself when it’s time for bed. Shadow has lived with kids, but older is probably better since he is such a strong guy! He gets along with most dogs, after proper introductions. Shadow is a pretty active young Pyr who would do well with a family that has some energy to take him on adventures. He loves to be outside on a beautiful day, but in heat or rain, would prefer to be inside with his humans. Shadow does not like gun shots or fireworks, but does like car rides, toys, cooling off in the water and a nice brushing. This sweet boy always looks like he is smiling when he looks at you! He is gentle and appreciates anything you do for him. He will thank you with kisses on the face when you feed him or fill his water bowl. Like we said, Shadow is very special and is looking for a family that will reward his tenderness with lots of love and affection. If Shadow sounds like the perfect addition to your family, apply today!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
