My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

Ryder—handsome and charming as a prince while managing to look like a big goofball with his friendly personality and charming freckles! This young Pyr mix boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and wants to be friends with everybody—his huge puppy power may be a bit overwhelming for smaller animals, but he would never hurt them. Ryder is a very smart boy, is quickly mastering the leash and enjoying walks with his person; he catches on quickly and aims to please! He is housetrained, crate trained, loves being groomed and is learning to play with toys. Ryder also loves riding in a vehicle, which he will jump right in for the next adventure :) Friendly is his middle name—whether he is meeting a new dog, a cat, or a human! Ryder likes to be right next to his person, giving the 'Pyr lean' while waiting for his head to be pet or laying at their feet. He loves playing with his foster brother so another dog companion in his furever home would be just perfect along with a cat or two! Ryder is just a very happy and friendly guy whose ideal home would be with a family who enjoys hanging out, playing in the back yard or taking him for adventures. This boy just wants a family to give him love and attention and he promises to return it ten-fold!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
