My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

This gorgeous boy is Maverick and he is a Pyr/Golden mix, the best of two beloved breeds! Maverick is a happy boy who loves to play with other dogs. He does great with both male and female dogs. His foster mom says he is extremely lovable and friendly, just a fun boy. He is playful and energetic and would make a great companion for some lucky family. Maverick is a tall thin bouncy boy who wants to play with everyone :) He would do great in a home with a playful doggie companion or even with multiple dogs as playmates. He may be a bit much for small kids but would do fantastic with older ones. Maverick is thin at 90 lbs but will gain more as he fills out. He has a great smile and a winning personality. He loves to go for walks and he loves to run around the play yard with all of his dog pals. He would love a great home of his own with a secure fenced yard with dogs to bounce around with. He has a gorgeous long white and cream coat with a hint of gold. Maverick walks nicely on leash and he would do great with an active family. We just love this big handsome guy and so will you - he is guaranteed to make you smile. He still needs to be cat tested and we will update his profile once that is done. We can't wait to see this sweet boy find a great home of his own. Could it be yours?

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.
