This beautiful bonded pair of Pyrenees are Lucy and Desi. They are super friendly with people and do great with kids, too. They really like other dogs as well. Lucy and Desi are such a gorgeous pair - they turn heads wherever they go! Lucy is super friendly and loves to play with other dogs. Desi is a total sweetheart, a bit more serious than his silly partner, but he does great with other dogs as well. Although they both do great with kids, they get so happy to play with them, they could easily bump into a smaller child and knock them over so we are recommending older children. They are both sweet and cuddly - both such nice dogs. They really seem to love each other so we are looking for a great home where they can stay together. They met a cat through the glass door but seemed a little too curious and excited about about cats so we do not think they have lived with them before and recommend a cat-free home. Both walk nicely on leash and do well riding in the car. They had been wandering around for a while hungry and on their own when a kind family tried to help them and find their owners - it turned out they were abandoned when their owner moved away and left them behind. They were brought to the nearby shelter who reached out to us for rescue help. Lucy and Desi are such nice dogs, friendly as can be and just a gorgeous pair. We are all so happy they are safe in rescue and can’t wait to see them find a great furever family of their own!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
