My Story

You can see more beautiful dogs by visiting our Adoptable Dogs page.

Kellie is a senior love bug who is looking for a loving home where she can be doted on as she enjoys her golden years. This sweet girl underwent surgery shortly after coming into rescue but has been recovering nicely in her foster home, following a strict regime of unlimited love and plenty of petting :) Kellie is quite the pyrfect gal with exceptional house manners and well-versed in her basic cues. Although she is starting to slow down these days due to age and probably the beginning of arthritis, she remains eager to join in whatever activities are scheduled on the calendar. Being an older gal does not stop her from wanting to tag along on car rides or go on a fun sniff walk in the neighborhood. She doesn't really care about toys, but likes her stuffy ones, which she treats as if they were her puppies, gently picking them up and taking them with her around the house. Kellie also loves a good nap, laying on her back with legs in the air :) Now, if you could provide her with an elevated bowl and an orthopedic bed, she will very happily keep your feet warm all night long. Kellie is a wonderfully sweet girl who is just looking for a family who has some extra love to spare and who will let her continue to live a carefree life into her golden years. While Kellie may not have the energy she once had in her youth, she will continue to bring lots of love and pawsitive energy to one lucky family. Will you open your home to welcome this lovely girl who is always in a good mood into your family?

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
