My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

This lovely Pyrenees girl is Juliet and she is ready and waiting for a great home of her own! Juliet adores people and loves getting attention from them. Juliet came into rescue with her son from a neglectful situation and now she is loving indoor life. She would love a nice comfy bed to lay on, a fenced in yard and kind humans who can give her the attention she adores. Juliet was used as a breeder and a livestock guardian and now she deserves a great home where she can be loved and spoiled as a cherished member of the family. Juliet was in such sad shape when she arrived to rescue - she had to have several mammary tumors removed which is common with Pyrenees used to breed. She was neglected and heartworm positive but she is doing so great now with her treatment, she is now a very low positive and should be free and clear of heartworms in no time. She is housetrained and great indoors so she does not need to be crated. She also likes to burn off energy outside, walks well on a leash, and loves car rides.Juliet would do fine as an only dog or with another large calmer male dog. She does fine with smaller dogs as long as they are not 'bossy'.  She's fed separately only because she prefers to eat alone. We were told she would chase a cat so a cat-free home would be best. A calmer adult home would be great for Juliet, a typical Pyr girl who is a great watchdog and will alert you to any threats. Juliet truly appreciates any kindness shown her way and deserves the best home!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
