My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

Jeb and Hogan are a very sweet, young bonded Pyr pair. These two rely on each other for safety and comfort and do not want to be apart. They are active guys looking for a family that will give them the love and attention they deserve. They are purebred Pyrs, so experience with the breed is a must. They will need a big, securely fenced in yard to play in with each other. They don’t like thunder, gunshots, or fireworks and will climb a fence when startled by these noises. Jeb likes to lay down spread eagle to eat his food while Hogan turns his bowl over because he prefers to eat off the floor. These two are sure to keep you entertained with antics like these :) They like car rides and love playing with toys, especially chew toys. These boys are fine with other dogs closer to their size. They’re a no for cats since they do have a high prey drive. They are rambunctious while playing so kids over 15 only, since they can accidentally knock over smaller children. They're not excessive barkers and are working on basic commands - they will come and wait without jumping. The boys are very friendly meeting new people and are learning not to jump on them. They would love a family that can take them out on trips to Lowes or PetSmart for some more exposure to the world, in addition to leash walks. Jeb & Hogan are both very loving dogs whose love for each other will quickly melt your heart. Both boys have great smiles, gorgeous coats and each has triple dew claws so we like to joke that they are Super Pyrs! Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
