This very handsome young Pyr boy is Cloud and he is a sweet boy who came from sad circumstances, so he will likely be shy when first meeting you, but once he gains your trust he is the sweetest, silliest boy! Cloud was urgent at a very crowded Animal Control who reached out to us for rescue help. This poor guy was so frightened at the overcrowded shelter. He arrived to his foster frightened yet hopeful- it did not take her long to earn his affection. He seems to love the ladies and is a bit more afraid of men. But once he trusts you he is sweet and silly and acts like a pup. He is really starting to seek out affection and he loves to nuzzle his foster mom and sniff her face and ears. He has become so sweet and affectionate in such a short time - he will surely be a most loyal and faithful companion for some lucky adopter. Cloud will try to jump up for hugs and he likes to come from behind and stick his head between your legs and have his ears rubbed :) When he is scared or frightened by something new, he may growl softly out of fear, but has not bitten so we feel he would do best with an adopter experienced with the breed. We are not exactly sure of the circumstances he came from before arriving to rescue but he was likely a working dog or someone got him as a pup and left him on his own. In the end he was picked up stray and never reclaimed so he might have been either discarded or left to roam. Cloud is truly the sweetest boy who yearns for attention and affection, something he likely never had before coming to rescue. He does walk nicely on leash and seems to enjoy car rides. He is still very young and very trainable, but most everything seems new to him. While he can be fearful at first, he is hopeful and starting to trust the humans who are kind to him. We are hoping to find a quieter home for Cloud where he will get the attention and affection he longs for. He would also love a fenced back yard to play in and would do well with a doggie playmate to show him the ropes. We are all hoping beautiful Cloud finds a loving home with patient human companions! Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
