My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

Announcing this perfect and stunning litter of 9 full Pyr puppies—the City Slickers who came to rescue as owner surrenders from their breeder. These kids are the real deal—simply gorgeous with amazing personalities to match. Avalon, one of 6 girls, has a very sweet and silly personality. She loves to use her paw (in true Pyr fashion :) to say hello and reach out to her people. She is learning to walk on a leash and doing quite well after only a few sessions! She is always the first to come up and give kisses and nuzzle her foster with her nose—she loves any attention she gets. Avalon is a perfect little lady and adores receiving the full beauty treatment of pedicure, brush, and style! Avalon will require a home with a secure fenced yard and a canine brother who she can look up to for advice and to help her learn the ropes and routine. If you are looking for a sweet little lamb disguised as a doggie and have large breed experience and the desire to teach Avalon all there is to know, this sweet, silly girl is ready to learn all about you, too! What are you waiting for?

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.
