My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

This absolutely gorgeous young girl is Autumn and she is such a sweetheart. Autumn was picked up wandering in Georgia. The shelter was so full they reached out for rescue help when she went unclaimed. She came into rescue very shy and under socialized, but her foster mom is already able to pet her and give her affection. She is just starting to seek that out, so we have high hopes for this gorgeous girl! Autumn loves playing with other dogs and as much as humans can do for these shy pups, another well-rounded dog in the home can be a huge help in bringing around a shy pup. We have found they learn to model their behavior after them and follow their lead. She will need a committed home with a friendly male dog to show her the ropes. Autumn will need work walking on leash and it will take her a bit of time for her to trust you, but once she does, she is a real sweetheart. This beautiful girl is still a youngster. We are getting her fully vetted and looking for a great adopter or foster home for her. And as you can see in the video she is as sweet as can be!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
